Interlude Performed at Friday’s Football Game.

By Mathew Mills & Dakota Erickson
The Atlantic Trojans got crazy once again at Friday’s football game against Harlan.  The Interlude dance was used to pump up the Atlantic football team and the crowd as the game headed into overtime. The dance was originally introduced during Homecoming week.
First-year Spanish teacher Dan Vargason came up with the idea, as he participated in it at UNI.

Vargason said, “I taught people the interlude because I went to the football and volleyball games and the crowd was just too quiet, and it needed excitement!” Junior classmate Travis Small said: “I thought it was fun and it got the crowd going at the football game.”

All of the people in Vargason’s Spanish class did the interlude during class.  So did the people in gym class and in Miss Huggins’ English classes.  The students were brought to the wrestling room and Vargason instructed everyone on the steps to the interlude.

Vargason would like the interlude to be performed at every home game event to get the crowd and players pumped up.
