Atlantic’s vocal department will have 28 students performing a solo. There are 10 groups and two duets performing at competition from Atlantic
Contest starts at 7 a.m. and will last until 4:30 p.m. The public is welcome to come watch performances but will be required to pay an entry fee of $3 for adults and $2 for students.
Choir teacher Luke Johnson said he does not feel that his students are as prepared as they have been in the past. This “has to do with the fact that musical is so close in proximity to Solo-Ensemble contest.”
Sophomore Logan Hemphill said, “I’m a little nervous, but I’ll probably get more nervous towards the actual day.”
Freshman Haley Glenn said she’s “not nervous at all because I’ve done this type of thing before.”
Sophomore Shelby Mckinley said, “Could be more prepared, but with the way I am now it’s going pretty good.”
