    Taking the ASSET Test?

    By Josh Schorle
Students planning to take classes for college credit here at AHS must take the ASSET test to qualify. According to the information packet available in the guidance office, the ASSET program is a series of short placement tests developed by ACT. It helps you identify your strengths as well as the knowledge and skill you will need in order to succeed in specific subject areas. These scores are used to determine if a student is ready to take college-credit courses including Comp 105 and 106, Pre-Calc, Calculus, and College Statistics (STATS). There are 110 total questions on the ASSET test consisting of four separate tests, each lasting 25 minutes. Sophomore Cal Heuton is one of the students taking the ASSET test hoping to qualify for college credit classes. He said he was “kind of nervous, but kind of excited I can get a few credits out of the way.”If you plan on taking the ASSET test, sign up in the guidance office. The ASSET test will be held on Thursday, March 15 at 1 p.m. in the multipurpose building.
