FFA adviser Bruce Johnk said the FFA members picked the dress themes they wanted. On Tuesday students wore their boots and belt buckles. Students dressed in Carhartt gear and FFA members drove their tractors to school Wednesday. Thursday members wore their FFA t-shirts and Friday students dressed in western shirts and boots.

Wednesday’s drive-a-tractor-to-school event draws attention to the equipment used in a farming operation.  Johnk said the most popular tractor driven to school is CASE I H. Junior Andrew Thielen said he drove a Case IHSTX Steiger 325. His tractor has 325 horsepower and is equipped with a luxury cab.

Before driving in Wednesday morning, Thielen added some oil, antifreeze, put air in the left-front tire, and “put some rat packs in there so I don’t have any mice crawling up my legs.” The drive took about 45 minutes.

Senior Dexter McDermott drove a 756 IH.  He said he got off all the dust before driving it to school.  “As I started it up, the black coal was a rollin’.”  McDermott left his house at 7:24 and it pulled into the parking lot at 7:42. It took about 20 minutes to get to town.

There are 38 members in FFA. There are eight freshmen: Adam Freund, Calley Klindt, Tevin Krause-Larsen, Marshal McDermott,Tori Phippen, Zach Ross, Savannah Sorensen, Clint Hansen; eight sophmores: Tyler Christensen,  Kristen Johnk, C.J. Richards, Wyatt Saeugling, Tucker Sager, Paige Sorenson, Kayia Williams, Steven Wright; 13 juniors: Tatiana Anderson, John Baker, John Freund, liz Guttenfelder, Emily Jacobsen, Brett Keegan, Sarah Masker, Nick Olsen, Travis Olsen, Austin Petty, Heather Reyna, Andrew Theilen, Jordan Westphalen; and  nine seniors: Amber Bishop, Katelyn Blake, Ty Johnk, Isaak Kolln, Sam McConnell, Dexter McDermott, Rob Nichols, Chris Kinney, Cole Lowary.

Theilen wishes FFA Week was more advertised, and suggested signs should be posted just like Homecoming and T.W.I.R.P. McDermott agrees.
