Trojan Diner

By: Hope Artillia Bowker

The AHS International Cuisine class is kicking off their first Trojan Diner with the country of France. The main dish for Thursday’s Diner is chicken with potatoes vegetables and bacon; brown butter green beans as the side dish; fried cheese as an appetizer, with mango lemonade to drink and chocolate éclairs for dessert.

The cost of the meal is $8 due to the increasing price in groceries . This is a raise from the previous charge of $7 according to FCS teacher, Meryl Hopper-Henningsen. Trojan Diner is only offered to staff of the Atlantic School District although we may have an end of the year student diner.  Trojan Diner has been serving meals for the past eight years and serves approximately 50 people each time.

Hopper-Henningsen said the foods department usually makes a profit. Hopper said the students learn “how the different aspects of food service industries work.” Junior ReAnn Cappel said the hardest part about Trojan Diner is “making sure the food is ready on time,” and the fun part about it is, “making food.”
