Seniors Austin Conrad and Derek Stork, and sophomore Darrian Schwenke each brought home medals from the 2012 Individual State Wrestling Tournament.
Conrad placed sixth at 285 pounds, Stork placed seventh at 160, and Schwenke placed eighth at 106.
On his way to earning sixth place, Conrad picked up his 100th career victory on Friday of the tournament. Out of Conrad’s six matches (three wins and three losses), three of were decided by one point and two of his matches went into overtime.
In the fifth place match at 285, Conrad faced Creighton Fox from Central Clinton in a re-match of Conrad’s overtime victory in the first round from Wednesday. On Saturday, Fox turned the tables, pinning Conrad in 5:40.
Senior Derek Stork finished his decorated high school career with a 2-1 decision over Coby Mooers from Carlislie in the seventh place match at 160 pounds on Saturday afternoon. Stork went 3-2 in his five matches during the three-day event at Wells Fargo Arena.
Sophomore Darrian Schwenke placed eighth at 106 after forfeiting his final two matches of the tournament. Schwenke finished 2-3 at the state tournament.
