A.J. the DJ

By Paul Honke

TWIRP is right around the corner. Dress days are in sight, people are making plans with their dates, and people are hoping to dance to their favorite songs. However, something unexpected will happen at this year’s spring dance. Instead of hiring a professional that the students end up complaining about, the TWIRP DJ will be none other than local resident and high school senior, A.J. Richter.

A.J. has agreed to do an interview with me on how he became the DJ and what we can expect from him.

Q: How did you become the DJ?

AJ: “I had a meeting with McKay in October, and she said I could do [DJ at]TWIRP.”

Q: How long have you practiced?

AJ: “About a year and a half.”

Q: Have you been assigned anywhere in the past?

AJ: “No. This is my first gig.”

Q: How much are you charging?

AJ: “We haven’t discussed it.”

Q: Do you take Requests?

AJ: “To an extent.”

Q: What songs will you play?

AJ: “Some stuff no one knows.”

Q: What kind of decorations will accompany you?

AJ: “Lasers, blacklights, and a fog machine.”

Q: What kind of equipment will you use?

AJ: “Turntables, a computer, and I’m borrowing an Amp and a PA system from the school.”

Sounds like TWIRP is going to be a fun dance for all.
