Trojanns’ defense stands tough

The Atlantic Trojanns held the Harlan Cyclones to 35 points Tuesday night, but the Trojanns’ offense was sluggish throughout their 35-20 loss.

Alex Hartwig led the Trojanns with eight points.

Neither team could buy a bucket in the first quarter. Atlantic held the Cyclones to only six points, while the Harlan defense held the Trojanns to three.

At the halftime break, Harlan held an 11-6 advantage.

Senior Paige Kennon made a three-pointer at the buzzer to end the third with the Trojanns trailing 23-16.

Ali Krogman scored the Trojanns final bucket with just over three minutes to play, to pull within six, 26-20, but the Cyclones won the game at the free throw line making nine of 20 free throw attempts in the final two minutes.
