Yesterday’s Ugly Sweater Day was a success! Not only students, but even a lot of teachers and some of the janitors got involved! Many of the teachers had the best sweaters–I mean UGLIEST sweaters in the whole school. Now that’s impressive!
Throughout the day, the sweaters brought laughs and smiles when students saw how ridiculous some of the sweaters could be. Some were fantastic, such as English teacher Liz Huggins’ hand-made extravaganza. And then some were just plain hideous, like junior Hope Bowker’s pink gingerbread sweater that was a rudeness to both the eyes and the ears.
But it all added to the holiday spirit of AHS when students wore whatever they had to make the day a fun one. If it were possible, I would want every Wednesday to be Ugly Sweater Day.
When principal McKay heard the day announced, she offered a contest among all the teachers that dressed up. Winning with four out of the seven votes was Tarah Anderson with her hideous combination of plaid, hearts, and bows! No offense, it’s a complement! So congratulations to her! Thanks to all who got involved and a big thanks to all the teachers that made it a fun day.
