Jake Olsen is very dedicated to his studies and sports. Olsen has played golf and basketball all four years of high school, and football his senior year.  He is most proud of his golf accomplishments.

Olsen is involved in other activities such as National Honor Society. He likes helping others and participating in the blood drive every year. He also is a member of the junior PGA. Last year he won the Des Moines Junior Golf Amatuer Championship, his most noble accomplishment. He is also very proud of “working hard towards his good grades.”

Olsen is very involved in golf. He started playing when he was only seven years old.  His inspiration was his dad. They went out and played all of the time. This has lead to   many of his accomplishments including 2nd Team All-Conference his freshman year and 1st Team All-Conference his junior year. His favorite year in golf was his junior year because the team made it to state. One of his favorite moments at state, besides getting fifth, was playing What Are The Odds in the hotel room and hanging out with other teams. He remembers night golfing with Ben Renaud, Nate Gifford, and Kyle Nelson after golf districts and the “very” fun practice they have.

Along with golf, Olsen was involved in football and basketball. He plays offensive line and special teams on the football field. In basketball, he plays guard and really enjoys the “bench celebrations” that he and his friends have.

With all his golf accomplishments, Olsen is planning on playing golf in college and majoring in business. Olsen said “majoring in business will lead to many new and different opportunities.”
