Trojan Girls Win Hawkeye Ten Conference

The girls golf team won the Hawkeye Ten conference championship on Monday, May 8. They won by 22 strokes over the second place team giving them a comfortable winning margin. Behind Atlantic was the Shenandoah girls team who shot a 375.

Senior standout Brooke Newell won the conference tournament for the third consecutive year. Newell shot a 79 on the night. Sophomore Baylee Newell placed next highest for the Trojans shooting an 88 and taking home fifth. Sophomore Alyssa Ginther rounded out the place finishers for the Trojans taking seventh with a 90.

With fair conditions to play in and a good course to play it lead to another conference track meet to an already impressive resume. The girls will continue play Friday, May 12 with sectionals.
