Reed Shines as Trojans Earn Second Place Finish in Harlan

Atlantic earned a second place finish last night with 101.50 team points.

Tuesday night the Atlantic boys track squad traveled to Harlan to compete in the Harlan Boys Cyclone Invitational. The Trojans earned a second place finish with 101.50 points behind Lewis Central and their 143.00 points.

Juniors Gratt Reed and Jaxson Eden were the highest point scorers for Atlantic on Tuesday evening. Reed posting 26.00 points while Eden scored 13.00. Senior Phoenix Shadden also added to the mix scoring 10.25.

Reed finished third in the 100M Dash event with a time of 11.51. Reed also earned a first place finish in the 110M Hurdle event posting a 14.88 time. Eden ran the 1600M Run in 4:46.23 winning first place.

Shadden earned a bronze medal in the 3200M Run while running a time of 10:20.61. Reed again put Atlantic on the board in the 400M Hurdles getting a second place finish on his way to running a 54.39 in the hurdle event.

Atlantic and their 4×400 team scored 8.00 points as they ran their way to a second place finish with a time of 3:32.01. Same with the 4×800 team which ran a time of 8:41.22 on their way to a second place finish as well.
To round out the night the Trojans again put a team in the Top-3 with the 800-Sprint Medley Relay event. Atlantic earned a second place finish with a team time of 1:38.24.

The cut-off deadline to qualify for the Drake Relays is next Thursday, April, 20th.
