On Thursday, March 9 AHS needle earned its first distinguished SNO badge. This badge is awarded to a news site that actively engages it’s viewers through an assortment of different social media.

SNO is an acronym that stands for School Newspapers Online. They are a company that allows to use their framework to publish, keep, and maintain an efficient news site.

SNO has many different badges that a school can strive to earn. In order to earn a badge a newspaper has to meet strict criteria. These badges are created to help a newspaper improve and reach excellence. While there is no tangible incentives for a badge, it is a symbol of excellence.

Journalism advisor Allison Berryhill said “This has been a goal of mine for our program.” Berryhill says this will hold our site to a higher standard, and also compares AHS needle to other sites.
