Tuesday, Dec. 13, the Trojan basketball teams hosted the Glenwood Rams. All freshman, JV, and varsity teams came out victorious for the boys.

During the freshman game, the boys took a strong lead, ending the first half ahead 33-17.

By the end, the Trojans defeated the Rams 54-36.

The freshman boys’ team is currently still undefeated at 5-0.

Tyler Moen was the leading scorer at 22 points. Moen has been one of the top three scorers in every game all season. Nile Petersen followed behind with 17 points, and Jesse Reid had 7.

Head coach Brandon Krause said, “Overall our effort was really good, and the kids played really hard. The Glenwood game has really turned out to be a rivalry in freshmen through varsity, and anytime you can win those games it’s a plus. This game only gets us one win, and there are many more wins to get if we continue to learn by our mistakes and build upon the successful things we do as a unit.”

Krause said he best thing about the game was that everyone got into the game, and thought their “two bigs”–Petersen and Moen–played really well together.

Reid said, “We played good on the defensive end, and we put the ball in the basket as well.”

The boys’ next game is today, Friday, Dec. 16, at home against Shenandoah. The freshman team kicks the night off at 4:30.
