This past Friday, Dec. 2. the Atlantic Trojans girls basketball team traveled to Council Bluffs to take on the St.Albert Falcons. Atlantic was 0-2 coming in while the Falcons came in 1-0. The Trojans were looking for there first win of the season.

Sophomore Baylee Newell and senior Catherine Leonard led the point scoring for the Trojans. Newell recorded 12 points while Leonard came away with 9. Newell leads the team with 30 points on the year followed closely by Leonard with 29. For St. Albert, sophomore Bailey White had 23 points and sophomore Teagen Blackburn finished with 16.

The Trojans suffered a tough one, falling 74-50 at the grip of the Falcons. Atlantic takes on the Red Oak Tigers tonight, Monday Dec. 5. They look to win their first game of the season and get on track.

Coach Kelly Juhl said, “We knew losing three starters from last season that there was going to be a learning curve.”
