Boys’ XC at Carroll

Trojans run well against strong 4A competition.

Last Saturday both the girls’ and boys’ cross country teams traveled to Carroll at Swan Lake for their cross country meet. The Trojan boys placed sixth overall with 5 4A teams in front of them.

Senior Phoenix Shadden and freshman Bradley Dennis crossed the finish line first for the Trojans, placing 7th and 9th overall in the meet. The meet had a lot competition as the Trojans ran against some of the top 4A teams in Iowa.

Dennis said, “I am happy with myself and the time I ran, but think the team can do better.”

Dennis said he needs to work on are staying with the front pack longer in the next meet, and not get discouraged that he is behind early in the race. His goals for the next meet are to place in the top three and win the meet as a team.

Their next meet is Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Creston.
