Last Monday the boys’ cross country team traveled to Red Oak and did not disappoint. The Trojans won the meet as a team, finishing with 4 runners in the top 10.

Senior Phoenix Shadden placed first overall with a time of 17:48. Alongside Shadden, freshman Bradley Dennis came in second place with a time of 18:14.

As a team the Trojans finished with 36 points, 25 points less than the second place finishing team, Red Oak.

Shadden the only senior on the team thought he and the team had a pretty good day running considering all the hills on the course.

Coach Ikel had high hopes for the boys going into the meet because they have run well there in the past years. Shadden has embraced his role as the leader of the team and enjoys leading his team.

The boys’ next meet is Saturday at Carroll.
