RECAP: Boys and Girls Basketball Against Red Oak

On Tuesday, Dec. 8, both the boys and girls basketball teams played the Red Oak Tigers. The boys played the Tigers at home, and girls played away.

At the end of the first quarter at home, the boys had already set the pace of the game by leading the Tigers 19-7.

In the start of the second quarter the Trojans went on a 11-0 run making the score 30-7. Red Oak scored for the first time in the second quarter right at the end to trail the Trojans 35-9. The halftime score was 35-11.

By the end of the third quarter the Trojans were leading 56-23.

In the beginning of the fourth quarter head coach Alan Jenkins took out the 5 starters, and put in JV players, juniors Caleb Williams and Jake Olsen, sophomores Ben Renaud and Jaxon Eden, and senior Alec Hayes, due to the large gap between scores.

The final score was 70-32 making the Trojans new record 3-0.

Senior Ryan Hawkins lead the Trojans all night with 24 points, junior Garrett Franken had 12 points, and sophomore Austin Alexander had 10 points.

The Trojan girls also had a big win over Red Oak, with a great first quarter starting off the night. By halftime the Trojans were ahead 39-13. The final score was 57-28, making the girls record 4-0.

On Friday, Dec. 11, both boys and girls play the Creston Panthers at 7:30 p.m. The boys will play at home, and the girls play away. The theme is Hawaiian.
