Last Friday, Sept. 4 the Trojans had their first victory of the season, when they defeated the Denison Monarchs 21-14. Their record is now 1-1.

In the first half, senior Kyle Nelson scored the first touchdown of the night, and senior Brendan Holmes with the second. Right off the bat in the second half, Holmes recovered a fumble and scored the third touchdown of the night.

Junior Drake Roller said, “Although we did come out with a win, it wasn’t as big of a win as intended it to be. We did take a step forward, but it wasn’t as big of a step as we wanted it to be.”

Tonight, Sept. 11, there is a home football game against Glenwood. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m., and the theme is whiteout. Also, wear your red, white, and blue headwear to represent 9/11!
