Boys Tennis Crush the Cyclones

Yesterday, April 27, the girls and boys tennis teams played the Harlan Cyclones. The boys defeated the Cyclones at home 8-1, while the girls lost in Harlan 1-8.

In singles, #1 senior Nick Podhajsky won 10-3, #2 freshman Grant Podhajsky won 10-3, #3 senior Ben Parker won 10-3, #4 senior Kyle Krueger won 10-5, #5 freshman Cooper McDermott won 10-1, and #6 freshman Luke Hohenberger lost 10-11. In doubles, #1 (Nick) Podhajsky and Parker won 10-4, #2 (Grant) Podhajsky and McDermott won 10-7, and #3 Krueger and Hohenberger won 10-8.

On the girls side in singles, #1 senior Codi Hitch lost 6-8, #2 senior Grace Jacob won 8-4, #3 sophomore Jena Brosam lost 5-8, #4 sophomore Olivia Davis lost 5-8, #5 sophomore Bailey Steffens lost 2-8, and #6 Heather Freund lost 4-8. In doubles, #1 Hitch and Jacob lost 5-8, #2 Brosam and Davis lost 1-8, and #3 Steffens and Freund lost 3-8.

Tonight, April 28, the girls travel to Audubon for their first non-conference meet. On Thursday, April 30, the boys and girls play the Red Oak Tigers. The girls will play at home, and the boys will play in Red Oak.
