The girls track team had their first outdoor meet of the season here at AHS last week. The Trojans finished fourth as a team and had two individuals win their events. Freshman Sidney Svoboda won the discus with a throw of 96’02” and sophomore Alexis Brockman won the high jump with a jump of 4’06”.

There were 44 individual PR’s, and three relays beat last year’s best times. “I think it shows we are still improving. (We) scored in every event except two. (We) weren’t winning but we were scoring and making an impact,” said head coach Paul Iekel.

The girls head to Clarinda today to compete against several teams from classes 1A, 2A, and 3A.
