As of Monday, March 16, the boys and girls tennis team had their first official practice of the 2015 season. This year there are 20 boys and 22 girls out for tennis, with a total of 42 players. Many of the players are excited to get the season started.

With only two returning varsity players from the 2014 boys season, senior Nick Podhajsky said he is excited for the chance to play with his younger brother, freshman Grant Podhajsky, and hopefully they will make it to state in doubles. Podhajsky also said, “I’d like to see improvement as a team from last year.”

Freshman Grant Podhajsky said his goal this year is to have a winning record in singles, and also win conference and go to state with his brother in doubles. Podhajsky said, “I want to improve myself by practicing harder and keeping a positive attitude in my matches.”

On the girls side, senior Grace Jacob said, “I want to have a stronger bond as a team and be able to work better together. I want to improve myself by practicing harder and keeping a positive attitude in my matches.”
