Trojan fans packed the gym in a non- conference matchup with the Treynor Cardinals on Friday, Feb. 13.  What started off as a slow game turned into a nail-biter, leaving no one sitting down.

The Cardinals got off to a quick start, leading 18-8 out of the gate at the end of the first quarter.  Midway through the second quarter, the Trojans battled back within 9 points, 28-19.  Despite the tough Cardinal defense, the Trojans managed to battle and went into half time only down by 11.

Things heated up in the fourth quarter with big steals from junior Brendan Holmes.  The Trojans closed the gap multiple times to 1 point, but never led.  After the team had no choice but to foul, the Cardinals sank enough free throws to oust the Trojans 64-61.

Holmes led the night with 22 points, and senior Joey Walker came in second with 18.  The boys will be back in action next Monday at Carroll.
