The Trojan boys basketball team took on the Clarinda Cardinals to defend their undefeated home record. The Trojans took off to an early start of 14-5 midway through the first, and ended the first quarter 17-7. The Trojans outscored the Cardinals 26-6, ending the first half at 43-13.

Head coach Alan Jenkins took out the starters in the third, as the Trojans were holding a 30 point lead. They ended the third 59-18. In the fourth quarter, bench players got to put some time in, and senior Kyle Krueger scored a bucket as well as freshman Austin Alexander.

It was an exciting game for the team and the fans as the Trojans cruised to a blowout victory of 66-27, making their record 10-4. The Trojan boys take on the Red Oak Tigers on Friday in Atlantic. The Red Oak boys are 4-10 and the Trojans defeated the Tigers the last time they faced off in Red Oak.

On the same night, the Trojan girls basketball team traveled to Clarinda and took on the Cardinals. The girls ended their three game losing streak when they defeated the Clarinda girls 49-40.

According to quikstatsiowa.com, junior Erin Olsen and senior Macey Schmitt both scored 11 points, tying for being the leading scorers of the team Friday evening. Junior Tiffany Williams led the team in rebounds, finishing the game with a total of 9.

The girls play Treynor tonight at home at 7:30. The girls are shooting for a 7-10 record, currently 6-10. The Treynor girls are 11-2.
