Tuesday night, the Trojans basketball girls hosted Kuemper in the second matchup of the season. The Trojans fell short to the Knights 55-30.

Head coach Kelly Juhl said, “We did not have a lot of energy in the first half and struggled to get into the flow of the game.”  According to Juhl, the girls did a “better job in the third quarter,” but had “dug themselves in too deep of a hole by that time.” In the first matchup between the Trojans and the Knights, the Trojans were defeated 37-49.

Juhl said sophomore Stephanie Sandbothe and senior Macey Schmitt continue to help the team and play well. “We as a team have to get mentally tougher and prepare harder for our competition. Our conference is too strong to take a night off,” said Juhl.

The Trojans travel to Clarinda on Friday night to take on the Cardinals. The contest is to begin at 7:30 p.m.
