Last Friday night, the Atlantic basketball teams faced the Denison Monarchs in Hawkeye 10 match ups. The girls hosted the Monarchs defeating them, 57-52. The boys traveled to Denison and defeated the Monarchs, 70-57, with help from leading scorer sophomore Garrett Franken with 20 points.

Head girls basketball coach Kelly Juhl said, “The girls showed that they have some fight in them versus Denison. We got out of the gate pretty well and built a double digit halftime lead. The game got intense in the late stages, and the girls fought back and held on for the victory.”

“We did not play as well as we would have liked, but we were able to persevere,” said Juhl.
