“The Walking Dead” TV Review

The AMC hit show “The Walking Dead” is one of the most popular shows on television today.  With there being 5 seasons of action-packed zombie killing excitement, it seems to not be have an ending to the series.

“The Walking Dead” started on Oct. 31, 2010, on the television network AMC, and still continues today.  The main character Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) is a Sheriff’s deputy who is shot and goes into a coma. He wakes up in a hospital, confused as nobody’s there. He escapes from the hospital only to find nobody around him, so he travels back to his neighborhood and finds two other people to help him. While he gets himself back together, Grimes goes to his police headquarters where he stocks up on weapons and finds a cop car to get him to the city where, finding himself trapped in a horde of zombies.  He gets out by a group of survivors coming to his rescue.  As that group fights to get out of the city, they go back to their regular camp ground in the woods, where Grimes would find his wife Lori and his son Carl.

Senior Tyler Thomas said, “My whole family watches it every Sunday, and my mom is the biggest fan I know.”

Senior Robby Bodine said,  “I really hope they never stop making the show and keep making up stories.”

Thomas also mentioned, “It is really sad that they are only making two more seasons. I was hoping it would never end it.”

The Walking Dead has won many awards.  According to imdb.com, the show’s awards include the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup, the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Cable TV Drama, the Golden Globe Award, the Directors’ Guild of America Award, the Satellite Award for Best Television Series, the Satellite Award for Best Cast, the Saturn Award for Best Television Presentation, and the Saturn Award for Best Syndicated/Cable Television Series.  The Walking Dead has been nominated for a total of 66 awards and has won 22 of them.
