On Thurs., April 10, the Atlantic Trojans lost to the Tri-Center Trojans, 3-2 in their second overtime loss of the year. The Atlantic players scored very early and very late in the game, putting pressure on Tri-Center.
At the beginning of the game, Ryan Hawkins scored his first goal of the season to put Atlantic up early 1-0. The score stayed the same throughout the rest of the first half, but Tri-Center put two points on the board in the first 20 minutes of the second half to put them ahead 2-1. Atlantic had some attacks on the goal but wasn’t able to put one in the back of the net until the final six minutes of the game, tying the score 2-2.
The rest of the regular time remained scoreless and the Trojans headed into overtime for their second home game in a row. Sadly, the results came out the same as the first time. Atlantic was scored on with 4 minutes left in the first overtime period.
However, after their win against Missouri Valley, 8-0 Atlantic brought their record back to .500 on Fri., April 11.
