Girls Soccer Defeated By Tri-Center

Girls Soccer Defeated By Tri-Center

By Justice Parker

For the girls’ second game of the season, they played away against the Tri-Center Trojans. The end result for varsity was 1-5, junior Ashleigh Waltz scored the first and only goal during the second half. JV’s final score was 2-3, with junior Justice Parker scoring the first goal and freshman Tori Krogh scoring the second one.

Assistant coach Daniel Vargason said, “I think our defense played better but our intensity and effort was lacking for the first part of the game, but at the last 10-15 minutes our intensity picked up after Ashleigh scored.”

Freshman Kassandra Brooks said, “I think we played okay we just need to communicate more. The most memorable thing about the game was that it was Justice’s first year playing and she got her first goal. We also need to work on communication and passing.”

Junior Ashleigh Waltz said, “I don’t feel like we were as aggressive as we usually are and we didn’t talk as much as we did in the last game but towards the end of the game we started coming closer together.”

Freshman Morgan Barkley said, “I think we played hard but maybe not as hard as we could have.”

Girls soccer played again on Fri. Apr. 11 against Abraham-Lincoln.
