What not to wear…to Winter Formal

Junior Delsin Arnolds dress shirt and tie are appropriate attire for the Winter Formal.

by Alyssa Askeland

Tuesday, Nov. 30, the AHS Student Council voted on a dress code for this year’s winter formal dance.  The reason behind the new dress code is because the winter formal is the prom version of a dance for the entire high school. The new dress code prohibits students from the dance if they are wearing sweatpants, jeans, sweatshirts, t-shirts, or polo shirts.

Formal dresses, including strapless and spaghetti strap dresses are allowed, as well as khaki pants and sweaters.  All students who want to go, but do not have the clothes and/or the money to buy them, can go to the nurse, Kristi Simpson, who will help them find something to wear for the formal on Dec. 11.

Students with questions or concerns can note the posters around the school telling what clothes are allowed and what is not. They can also talk to any Student Council member or attend the next meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 7:30 a.m. in the media center.
