Senior Survivor to Begin at AHS

By Maren McNees and Kallee Mudd

Starting on April 15 and ending April 19, ten seniors will compete against each other in Senior Survivor at AHS.

Out of the 12 seniors that applied, ten (five boys and five girls) were selected for Senior Survivor. Each senior had to fill out an application and create a video audition that was reviewed by teachers and some student council members. “We have exactly 5 guys apply, so all 5 guys will get to compete. Teachers and some student council members will view the 7 girls tapes, to choose who will get to compete,” said Student Council Member Steph Freund. Mackenzie Holmes, Danielle Lambert, Emily Jacobsen, Diana Perkins and Caroline Trewet are the five girls that were chosen for the women’s senior survivor spots. Jake Auerbach, Harrison Hoegh, Stuart Hoegh, Jordan Mauk and Bryce Wernimont are the five guys that were chosen for the men’s senior survivor spots.

Each day, the seniors will have to go through both a physical and a mental challenge. This does not include the activities they are involved in throughout the day. Each survivor will be allowed to leave for sporting events, but right afterwards they have to come back to AHS and do the challenges that are required for elimination purposes.

Some of the guidelines that the seniors will have to follow are that they are not allowed to have any electronics, and visiting hours for them will end at 7:30 p.m. They are also to eat the meals that are provided to them by the school and Student Council and are not allowed to have extra snacks from home. The seniors are also only allowed to have a brown, paper bag to hold their supplies for the week and their book bags.

After the eliminations, the student body will find out who is left! Good luck to all of the survivors and may the odds be ever in your favor!
