Three Atlantic students are wrestling in the Iowa State Wrestling Tournament on Feb. 14 in Des Moines, Iowa. The Trojan/CAM wrestling participants are Junior Dillion Cox, Senior Tyler Stork, and Senior Matt Williamson.
Cox said he is satisfied but, “not done yet.” He said he hasn’t reached his entire goal which is to win the tournament. “We all deserve it. I feel like they pushed pretty hard to get there,” said Cox. He thinks all of them should be on the award stand. Dillion’s favorite thing about wrestling is spending time with the entire team. “We are more like a family,” says Cox.
Coach Tim Duff said that the three boys that are advancing to state are the most consistent workers in the room. Duff said the boys have “real tough first round draws,” but they don’t want to go and be just participants. They are going in hopes of bringing home medals. He is hoping that all three will win medals.
The Iowa State Wrestling Tournament is a three day tournament starting on Thursday and ending Saturday evening.
