Atlantic High School has recently hired a new teacher, Ms.Oltmans. She will be teaching ILA and sophomore english. She took over the position of Mr.Smith, after he moved to Mr.Shuman’s room.
Oltmans is originally from Alton, Iowa which is outside of Sioux City. She played volleyball, basketball, ran track, and swam but will not be coaching anything, because she does not have a coaching endorsement.
So far, Oltmans says that she thinks AHS is a very nice school and that, “Everyone is very welcoming.” She added that all of her students have been very patient with her while she settles into her new job and learns the technology in her classroom.
Ms. Oltman’s goal is to get people reading for enjoyment outside of school. She wants to teach kids how to find a book that they actually enjoy reading outside of class, so they can learn that reading can be a fun activity.
Oltmans has a Cat named Snickles, and the cat is all gray. She also has a shorkie named Ruggar. Oltmans would chose Subway over McDonalds, and potatoes are her favorite food.
